Taste of Rockport 2014 is now history. Thanks for a great event. Pictures will be posted soon.

Our THANKS to the restaurants and caterers of Rockport and Fulton for a fantastic display of all the fine dining we have available in Rockport and Fulton. Our restaurants this year included Alice Faye’s, Allegro Bay, Capt. Benny’s, Caroline’s Turtle Bay Café, Cheryl’s By the Bay, Culinary Arts at the RFHS, Faifoo Café, Glow, Hatfield’s BBQ, HEB, K-BOBS Steakhouse, Kendrick Farms, Key Allegro Yacht Club, Latitude 28 02, Mac’s Pit Barbecue, Moondog Seaside Eatery, Paradise Key Dockside Bar and Grill, Rockport Bakery, Simply Sinful and Skinny Bob’s Coneys. We also had the fine Texas wines of Lavaca Bluffs Vineyard and  Winery. Andrews Distributing assisted with the beer and sponsored the band - The Rebuilt Carburetors.

All funds raised through this event will go toward  scholarships for our graduates from Rockport-Fulton HS. Since 1980 the  Scholarship Foundation has awarded $190,000 in scholarships. Last three years  combined provided scholarship in excess of $60,000. The Rockport Rotary Club Charles A. Evans  Scholarship Foundation is  proud to support our youth and future leaders. A final tally is in the works and we will publish it here when available.

Little Bay Sea  Queens - you are the best Masters of Ceremony, or Mistresses? - we could have had. Your were over top and generous with your signatures. I'm sure all of you need to replenish you lipstick.

To the the Table Sponsors and attendees - Your generosity is overwhelming. The response and funds raised from the Live and Silent auctions and Mystery Box tickets will add to the scholarships we will be able to award this year. Thanks.

On a personal note - Dennis and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the support and hard work done by the members of the club to make Taste of  Rockport 2014 a success. Dennis and I received lots of thanks and praise for a job well done last evening, but we couldn’t have nor did it without your efforts to sell tickets, promote the event, round up auction and Mystery box items, get restaurants to attend, setup and cleanup and working the event. Thank you all.
