Recently  21 people gathered to perform the Spring “Pearl Street Pickup.”

ImageThe 2 miles of Pearl Street (Hwy 2165) was adopted last year by the local Rockport Rotary Club.  This spring the Rotary Club members were joined by members of the Rockport –Fulton High School Interact Club and members of the Church of the Latter Day Saints which has an part of the committed roadway.  The large number of people made the pickup ( of what is actually 4 miles -both sides), easier.  They gathered a total of 23 bags of litter.

After the pickup, participants gathered to refresh at the Rockport Memorial Park’s Lakeside Pavilion for hot dogs, pizza, cold drinks and cookies.

Rotary members participate with individual clean-ups to help maintain  this area between the semi-annual pick-ups sponsored by the entire Rockport Rotary Club.
